Getting around Malaysia ranges from excellent (KL's expanding rail network) to challenging (traffic jams). Most expats combine public transit with Grab for optimal convenience.
Public Transit (Kuala Lumpur)
Rail Network:
- MRT (Mass Rapid Transit): 2 lines covering 109km, modern stations
- LRT (Light Rail Transit): 3 lines, extensive coverage
- Monorail: City center loop
- KTM Komuter: Suburban rail
- KLIA Ekspres/Transit: Airport connection
Fares:

Driving
License Requirements:
- International Driving Permit: Valid 3 months

Car Ownership:
- New cars: Expensive due to import duties
- Used cars: More affordable
- Proton/Perodua (local brands): Best value
