APRC (Permanent Residency) Visa

Alien Permanent Resident Certificate - Taiwan's permanent residency status. Standard path: 5 consecutive years of legal residence with 183+ days/year. Gold Card holders: 3 years. Must demonstrate financial self-sufficiency: average monthly income 2x minimum wage (currently ~NT$55,000) OR assets of NT$5 million+. Also available through professional skills with recognized certificates. APRC holders can work without permit, stay indefinitely, and access most social benefits. Standard APRC requires 183+ days/year in Taiwan; Gold Card APRC only requires 1 day every 5 years. Spouse and dependents can also apply after meeting residency requirements. Taiwan does not offer citizenship by naturalization without renouncing original citizenship (with rare exceptions).
