Citizenship
Singapore citizenship is available to PRs who have resided in Singapore for at least 2 years and demonstrated commitment to making Singapore their permanent home. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and pass an interview with ICA. Dual citizenship is not allowed—applicants must renounce any other citizenship. Benefits include full voting rights, Singapore passport (visa-free access to 190+ countries), full access to healthcare and education subsidies, and ability to buy new HDB flats. Male citizens must complete National Service (2 years). Children of citizens can be registered as citizens by descent.

Dependent Pass
The Dependent Pass (DP) allows legally-married spouses and unmarried children under 21 of eligible work pass holders to live in Singapore. The main pass holder (EP, S Pass, PEP, or EntrePass holder) must earn a fixed monthly salary of at least S$6,000. EntrePass holders face additional requirements: business must have 3+ local employees or 1 local PME, plus S$100K+ annual business spending. DP is tied to the main pass holder's employment. Children on DP can attend schools but need Student Pass for university. DP holders can work with a Letter of Consent (LOC) from their employer, which must be applied for separately. Processing takes about 3 weeks.

Employment Pass
The Employment Pass (EP) is Singapore's primary work visa for foreign professionals, managers, and executives. From September 2024, all EP applications must pass the COMPASS (Complementarity Assessment Framework) points-based system, scoring 40+ points across salary, qualifications, diversity, and support for local employment. Minimum fixed monthly salary is S$5,600 (S$6,200 for financial services), with age-adjusted benchmarks scaling up to ~S$10,700-S$11,800 for applicants in their mid-40s. Employers must advertise on MyCareersFuture for 14 days before applying. Initial validity up to 2 years, renewable for up to 3 years. EP holders earning S$6,000+ can sponsor dependents. EntrePass

Long-Term Visit Pass
The Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) is for family members who don't qualify for the Dependent Pass, including common-law spouses, stepchildren, parents, and parents-in-law of work pass holders or Singapore citizens/PRs. For EP/S Pass holders, sponsoring parents requires a minimum fixed monthly salary of S$12,000. LTVP is also available for spouses of Singapore citizens/PRs (separate application via ICA). LTVP holders cannot work unless they obtain a separate work pass. Valid for up to 2 years, renewable. Note: Singapore does not have a dedicated retirement visa; LTVP is primarily family-based and requires a local sponsor.

ONE Pass

Introduced in 2023, it offers exceptional flexibility: holders can start, run, or work for multiple companies simultaneously in Singapore. Valid for 5 years (renewable for 5 years), no employer sponsorship required for renewals. Spouses can work on Letter of Consent without separate work pass. No COMPASS assessment required. Ideal for executives, entrepreneurs, and exceptional talent seeking maximum flexibility.

Permanent Residency

PR holders enjoy subsidized healthcare and education, can buy HDB resale flats, and contribute to CPF. Male PRs and their sons must fulfill National Service obligations. Processing takes 4-6 months. After 2 years as PR, eligible individuals can apply for citizenship.

Personalised Employment Pass

Unlike standard EP, PEP is not employer-tied—holders can switch jobs without reapplying. If unemployed, can stay in Singapore for up to 6 months to seek new employment. Must maintain annual fixed salary of at least S$270,000. Valid for 3 years, non-renewable (one-time issuance only). Not available for freelancers, directors who are shareholders, or journalists.

Student Pass
The Student Pass is required for international students pursuing full-time studies in Singapore for more than 30 days. Students can work part-time up to 16 hours per week during term (with school authorization), and full-time during official vacation periods. After passing a national exam (PSLE, GCE N/O/A levels), students can apply for Permanent Residency. The pass is valid for the duration of the study program and must be renewed for each new academic period.

Tech.Pass

Holders can start businesses, work for multiple Singapore tech companies, or mentor startups. Valid 2 years, renewable for 2 years. Pathway to PR available.
